I’m sure you have definitely said these things before, ‘does God really talk to us?’ ‘something told me…’ ‘can we really hear God when he speaks?’ ‘how does God speak to us?’ ‘is it audible?’ ‘is it a small still voice?’ ‘is it very clear?’.

Over the generations many people have wondered whether God speaks to us audibly and how often does He speak and whether He hears us at all when we speak to me. Thing is our God speaks to us but many at times pastors and preacher men have confused us and they make us feel that it if us who don’t hear God when He speak. Some say listen to that small still voice.

So does God speak at all? Oh yes He does! What God does usually is to influence our thoughts, He drops ideas, thoughts into our minds. That’s why many people say something told me that this and this, that and that. God himself does speak but not so often as He influences. I prefer to call those influences whispers. Of course God speaks audibly too to people when it is major, He needs to be heard audibly.

Preacher men will tell you many times that God told me that this and that are going to be like this. Many times it was so much of an audible voice, it was a whispers, God pushing thoughts into their. They tell us it is God because they know where the thought is coming from so I think it is high time we stopped saying something told me… So don’t go thinking if God speaks to the preacher man why not me, well guess what He does whisper into your mind every single day

Oh surely the devil also pushes thoughts into your mind but just like God’s influences we make a choice, a free will to say we will go along with what came into our minds. That’s how God design it, it is your final decision to make, go with God’s whisper or the devil’s.

A man of God, Myles Munroe in his book “Understanding the Purpose and  Power of Prayer” wrote as that that time he had heard God audibly only three times in his entire Christian walk but most at times God influences his thoughts, God whispers into his mind.

So God whispers every day, are you listening?

“Worry is a misuse of the imagination,” a statement by Dan Zadra. I read this on my wall this morning when I woke up. That was the day’s quote according to the calendar I printed out, made my Catherine Pulsifier. Probably at that time I was a bit worried, maybe not, but it struck me hard when I reflected a bit on it when I woke up from bed. Ah Yes! Now I know why I was worrying that much at the time I saw the quote. My pocket is dried up and I was wondering how I was even going to make a call or send a message to my best friend’ ohhh and yea my phone was having what I will call ‘a dry spell’ – no credit. So worried sick as to how I was going to pull the strings together this week because there were a few things I had to acquire. I guess sometimes you have to delay gratification a bit. Why am I saying that? Well, apparently I’m 19 trying to invest and save for the big life tomorrow. Don’t be silly :) I don’t mean tomorrow literally. I mean in the near future. As at now my pocket doesn’t represent all the money I have in savings and investment. So far of it! Hey! Stop thinking about how much money I have in shares and in the bank. Whatever and however you think, it is still mine, get yours! :P

After reflecting for a couple of minutes still on my bed, my legs hadn’t touched the floor yet; I realized that the word or action ‘worry’ is in actual sense performed by everybody. You get worried, I get worried, and she gets worried, he gets worried; dad has his fair share, mum does, even the little baby worrying when it’s going to get the breast milk. We all do worry. Here’s the thing; should we allow worry to get to us. I don’t mean it’s wrong to worry about something, what I’m saying is that t shouldn’t ruin your whole day and in effect your whole life. There’s a lot of good stuff out there to harvest than sitting down on your bed worrying.

I’m not heartless; I know when poor parents get up from bed and worry about how they are going to feed their children. There’s nothing at home to prepare the smallest amount to food for the family even if it means they’re not going to be satisfied, at least they have taken something in. I know about that carpenter who has hardly got his hands on a job this month and is worrying about how he’s going to finance his girl’s schooling. It was easier when his well-to-do brother was around, he could at least ask him for money but now that he’s gone… We could go on and on about that list, but I’m not going to. If I do that, I’ll be worrying too much.

You know what has to be done rather? Note this, whether you like it or not, there are so many things in your life to probably worry about, each and every single on of us. People we have to make a resolve, like I said there are so many things out there waiting to be harvested; you worrying won’t get it done. You have to put your hands on the field. I don’t mean farming literally, but that’s not a bad idea at all, if that came to you. Look chances are that if you worry and keep worrying and worrying that’s all you do. You have to change that action to thinking rather. Think about other ways, new possibilities to channel all your human resource. Who lied to you and told you it is over, or it is too late? Who lied to you? Look pal, it never as over as over can get. Life continues until you finally decide to (in my English teacher’s way) ‘kick some bucket.’ The moment you change worrying to thinking, you realize that a whole new world opens up to you. Worrying has never gotten anyone anywhere; THINKING has! You see why worrying is a misuse of the imagination – it gives you a wrong perception og how the world is run. Thinking gives you something, worrying takes something away from you.

So errrrmm Edwin, what does it give or take? Power to undo and do… The ball is in your court, you want to keep worrying, fine! You want to think and let the world open up to you because it sure is a goldfield of opportunities here. Let’s go! One caution though, you have to know where to look for opportunities and that’s why thinking will help you a lot more. All hands on deck!

If you are a Bible person or a Christian, you may think you already know what I’m going to talk about. Okay pal! I’m know about the ant’s wisdom in preparation and leadership, but this time we going to revisit the insect, so small yet full of wisdom.

The principle here is simple: have you seen an ant ever gathering food before, across your wall, or some place else? I’m sure you have. If you haven’t go check your kitchen, as neat as it is :) you will still find one “hunter ant” searching for food. If you have seen ants carrying food before, you would have notice that: the ant most of the time, if not all the time carries stuff bigger than it. Yeah! What are you waiting for? That’s the principle. ;)

When the knowledge dropped in me I realized something about us humans. Yes! You reading this script right now, I’m talking to you. So many times, in our lives we comes face to face with obstacles, trials, temptations, mountains bigger than us, however we want to describe it in other words. When these difficult times come what do we do? Do we blame God for allowing it to happen to you? Do you blame your father or mother? Do you blame your friends? Maybe your teacher even, for not teaching you well enough? Look face reality, things happen all the time, if you haven’t face a difficult time before, then maybe we should check the death records if you are dead (just kidding); but then what’s important is that we have to come out of it. Yeah so why did I bring the ant into all this at all?

That little creature faces the toughest challenge of its life trying to gather food, thinking of it how much do you suffer to bring food in? The food falls but the ant picks it up, putting the heavy stuff on its back once again, shifting it slightly, and changing its style. It never gives up! If it feels it can’t go on, if goes in for help, and a string of ants come and start breaking the stuff into bits. They never leave it there; they take it all in, little by little until they are done. As soon as they are done, they go searching for the next big pile.

I look at this little creature much bigger than we men, but its courage, strength, and not-giving up character is much bigger than our understanding. Hey! Doesn’t it just push you to move on? To go pass the so called THING that’s stopping you? Look at the mountain before you, my friend, you better start climbing it. You may think because you are single mother and moving in between jobs, you can’t take care of all those children. No! My mum, you can, like the ant piece by piece little by little, you can bring it all in. That difficult time you are facing can’t move if you don’t move it. If our friend, the ant doesn’t move the large chunk of stuff, it will never move. My father, my brother, my mother, my friend, my sister, start moving that load, walking over that mountain, and fighting back. Think about how to move on and MOVE! Stop staring at that load and fight on, it may seem difficult, a very heavy load, it may even fall, but like the ant, pick it up again and change how you carry it. If you can’t any longer, don’t give up, call me from your next door I will help you hull it in.

Little be little, piece by piece, you can hull it all in. You will be over that mountain. That difficult time will later turn to be a stepping stone for another person when you are telling it to another A moment you will smile over, because it made you stronger. Don’t give up! There’s more ahead! I have a saying that, “It’s never impossible; it’s just that you don’t know how-to, yet!” Now you know, take the principle from the ant, “HULL IT ALL IN!”
